Natural Ways to Boost Your Immune System

We've had a huge influx of questions and concerns from people worried about c0vdid-19, and we apologise for our herbal blends selling out (we now have more in stock) - one thing we can tell you, is that it's super important to remain vigilant but don't be fearful.

Did you know, when we fear something, we empower it? This is because we are constantly sending energy to what we fear, and the more energy we send it, the more powerful it becomes! And the more we attract it too (also why I have slightly changed the name of the virus (c0vdid), so not to send more energy to it). Ever heard the term, "we attract what we fear?" Imagine how much energy the entire world is sending this virus/the fear of this virus? Manifest and attract what you want, not want you don't want.

Also, fear causes stress, which releases cortisol (the primary stress hormone) into the body and this weakens the immune system. By being fearful, we're not only empowering c0vdid-19, but we're also weakening the immune system. So it's crucial to be informed but not fearful, and focus on your immunity!

Many herbs help, especially echinacea, mullein, ginger, sea moss, elderberries, and adaptogens like reishi, lions mane, cordyceps, and astragalus. Eat lots of raw fruit (lifeforce foods), including berries and citrus fruits, and make sure to get lots of vitamin C. We only become ill when our lifeforce is low, so getting more lifeforce is crucial. It's also crucial to use nature to cleanse and strengthen as well: get plenty of sun (lifeforce + boosts the immune system), swim in the ocean (lifeforce + also boosts the immune system), and get into nature where possible and breathe in nature's electrons (also lifeforce). Did you know that many plants, especially ferns, let off natural probiotics that we inhale? Probiotics help the gut which also helps the immune system. Keep up your fluids (drink filtered water) and get plenty of sleep, as a lack of sleep also contributes to lowered immunity and lifeforce. And keep your vibration high! High vibration = high lifeforce.

Did you know that neglected children have lowered immunity, and nurtured children have stronger immune systems? This in itself highlights how important LOVE is when it comes to our immunity strength. LOVE each other and nurture your children. Always.

Low iron also results in lowered immunity and can cause breathing issues as well, so watch your iron levels. Eat plenty of iron-rich foods (hemp seeds, soaked/sprouted legumes especially lentils, black beans and tofu, activated nuts especially pistachios, and leafy greens etc) paired with vitamin C-rich foods, such as citrus fruits or berries, tomatoes or avocado. High iron-containing herbs are sarsaparilla root, burdock root, dandelion root, nettle root and alfalfa. We have a iron fluorine (plant-based iron) herbal blend here.

Zinc levels are also crucial. Unfortunately, herbs are quite low in zinc, so it's important to get your zinc through wholefoods. To increase your zinc levels naturally through wholefoods, eat turmeric alongside zinc-containing foods, such as cashews and chickpeas. Turmeric helps the body to absorb zinc properly, but also needs to be heated (or add black pepper) to be activated. I like to make cashew cream sauce (for pasta, or pizza sauce to replace the cheese), and add turmeric powder to the sauce. I also add turmeric and black pepper to hummus, and use it on sourdough toast, or add to the top of home-made potato wedges with some guacamole. Turmeric is also fat-soluble, so eating a good fat with turmeric also helps absorption.

Eucalyptus, tea tree and oregano oil are also great to have on hand. Add the essential oils to a diffuser, or dilute with olive oil and use them topically. Oregano oil can also be taken in capsule form and added to olive oil to be taken internally.

While boosting the immune system, it's also important to look after your gut. Most of the immune system resides in the gut, so fuel your body with nutrient-dense foods and leave the over-processed and hard -to-digest foods alone as these foods will compromise your gut.

Our IMMUNITY BLEND contains echinacea (immune-strengthening, antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal) mullein (perfect for the respiratory system) and freeze-dried kakadu plum for a huge hit of wholefood vitamin C.

Our ANTI-BLEND contains echinacea (immune-strengthening, antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal) astragalus (a powerful adaptogen with antiviral and immune-strengthening properties) and elderberries (a powerful source of wholefood vitamin C and immune-strengthening properties, also used to relieve congestion, upper respiratory ailments, cold and flu). REISHI, SEA MOSS and WHOLEFOOD VITAMIN C will also help.

All of the above recommend herbal blends may also be taken by pregnant and breastfeeding women, infants and children.

HAPPY GUT Blend restores gut health, so if your gut could use some assistance, this blend is for you. Also, SUPER MUSHIE Blend, is a combo of adaptogenic medicinal mushrooms to boost the immune system, gut, brain, adrenal and respiratory system. These two blends can not be taken while pregnant or breastfeeding, please refer to the earlier mentioned herbs if needed.

Two of our favourite teas for strengthening the immune system and soothing the throat are:

Ginger tea - 1 tbsp grated ginger steeped in boiling water for 10 minutes before drinking. Add a lemon wedge if desired.

Elderberry tea - 1 - 2 tsps dried elderberries steeped in boiling water for 10 minutes before drinking.

OR a combo of both elderberry and ginger is powerful and tastes amazing too! If you need dried whole elderberries, we have them here.

Lastly, be hygienic. Not only washing your hands regularly, but if you have cold or flu symptoms, don't spread it! Stay at home! If you catch public transport or go to the cinemas, even after school, wash your hands and change clothes when you get home. We have no idea how often seats are cleaned (if ever). Spray eucalyptus spray in your car and make a point to clean your phone, car keys and door handles regularly. Don't wear your shoes in your house, leave them at the door. Our shoes walk through public toilets, subway stations, supermarkets and the bacteria that they pick up is nasty! These are all steps that we implement regardless of c0vdid-19, and we recommend that you do this too.

Please remember to look out for each other 💜 As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out!

Be Well. Be Kind.
